Solano CalFresh

Innovative Health Solutions is deeply committed to promoting healthy living among children in K-12 settings throughout Solano County. We believe that by providing students with the tools and resources they need to make healthy choices, we can help them build lifelong habits that will benefit them well into adulthood.

To achieve this mission, we have partnered closely with the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District to develop and implement numerous school garden projects and nutrition education initiatives. Our goal is to help students understand where their food comes from, to encourage them to eat more fruits and vegetables and to inspire them to make healthier choices in their daily lives.

In addition to our work with the school district, we also attend events throughout the community to provide resources and information on how to live a healthy lifestyle. We believe that by working together with parents, teachers, and community members, we can create a healthier future for all children in Solano County.

PARTNERS

Sustainable Solano

  • A key partner in developing school gardens and supporting sustainability education! Together, we have helped schools install and maintain gardens by fostering ownership through garden clubs and connecting students with hands-on opportunities to grow, harvest, and cook nutritious food.

Community Coalitions

  • Through active involvement in the Solano Moves Coalition, Healthy Solano Collaborative, and VibeSolano, we contribute to countywide efforts to promote physical activity, healthy eating, and stronger community health systems. These coalitions allow us to align our school-based work with broader health initiatives across Solano County.

Local Families and Students

  • Parents and students are at the heart of our success. By joining garden clubs, participating in cooking classes, and sharing lessons learned at home, families ensure that the impact of our programs extends well beyond the classroom
